I’d rather be shooting than writing, but you oughta know us.
Photography started for me as a curiosity. I would go early in the mornings to local markets, and outdoor laundromats, making portraits of people and everything around me.
Photography evolved slowly into knowing people and their stories, watching my friends smile when they saw themselves on my phone screen or my camera. What started as me documenting a hobby on social media turned slowly into me realizing the value of my work.
My art and vision aren't inspired by anything in particular, being from a family far from art and being an engineer. My art is a product of what I grew up with, the movies I watched, the music I listened to, the food I ate, and the cities I lived in. My art is how people make me feel. Which is why I love making photos of people on their wedding days and in fashion. Weddings combined the street photographer in me, who started out with a phone, 9 years back, to the person who loves making new friends and seeing them happy. Fashion combined my love for my city (Mumbai and New York), its aesthetic, and its people, and allowed me to execute the narrative that’s in my mind. This approach led our work to be featured on various platforms from Netflix, Google, Vogue, Asian Photography magazine, to me being the Head Photographer at the first-ever South Asian New York Fashion week 2022.
Allie’s love for love far pre-dates me. In college, all Allie cared about was Bridal outfits and she made her dream come true as a designer for one of the top luxury bridal brands in New York City. She is the one who makes sure our brides are always calm and happy on their special days and my voice of reason.
Junjare brand is about embracing the chaos, the colors, and the feelings of our memories and visualizing them in a photograph. Our shooting style combines the fine art aspect of fashion photography during the couple sessions and the documentary style of street photography during the ceremony.
